Skate Hieroglyphics

This was a diptych assignment in my second year at Langara. The purpose was to show two paintings that show a breakdown of a recognizable subject into an abstraction. The first painting (left) is of a teenager doing a trick on his skateboard. The second painting (right) moves away from the first and deconstructs the first painting by intensifying the formal qualities and breaking apart the shapes.
